Back Home began as a collaboration on Qurissy’s visual interpretation on Eve Ewing’s poem, Why You Cannot Touch My Hair. This series inspired her to have a visual conversation on Black hair as an heirloom that has traveled through generations of girls and women. While also hoping to ask how boys are often left out of that tradition. Back Home was on display at Young Chicago Authors in Chicago from July-August 2018.
